It is only going to get worse, here in Old SAYBROOK, Especially with a low-moderate
apartment complex being built, 186 units, 3 story, 7 units. The police chief is one of the highest paid in the State, approx $200.000 a year, as far as I feel, the Police Dept tops all other town Depts, even over the Shools expense. I’ve heard the Police Dept has a force of 50 officers, for a TOWN OF 10,000, AND SHRINKING. Some officers are making more the teachers in the system, and some making $158.000 or more, what happened to the TOWN FOOT PATROL, the Chief’s solution, let them sit in the car, thus my solution, good-bye Saybrook, the house is on the market, after living in the town for 30 years it was great back then. One more note, the police got their police boat, even though it was voted down.
